This part of the county is split. Some homes are on town water and some are on private wells, and the two bring completely different complaints to our phone. Town water tends to be about taste and chlorine. Wells bring iron, hardness, sediment, and that sulfur smell nobody wants coming out of a tap.

Our rule on this work is simple: test before recommending anything. Water problems look alike from the outside and have very different causes underneath, and equipment that solves the wrong one is money gone. How do I find out what is actually in my water?
By testing it, which is where we start. If you are on a private well nobody is testing it for you, so what you know is only what you can taste, smell, and see staining the sink. Testing turns that guesswork into a list of specific things to treat, or confirms your water is fine and you can save the money.
What is the difference between a water softener and a filter?
They solve different problems. A softener targets hardness, the dissolved minerals that scale fixtures and leave film on glassware. A filter removes particles, iron, or the compounds behind odor and taste. Some homes need one, some need both, and the test tells us which conversation we are having.
Does a filtration system need maintenance?
Yes. Filters and media do the work by capturing what you do not want, which means they eventually fill up and need changing on a schedule that depends on your water and your usage. We will tell you what yours needs before you buy it, and we service systems already installed.
What causes a sulfur smell in well water?
That sulfur smell comes from naturally occurring gases or reactions happening in the well and the plumbing, and sometimes from the anode rod inside a water heater reacting with the water. The cause decides the fix, which is why we test rather than start swapping equipment. It is a solvable problem.
How much does a whole-home filtration system cost?
