Sturbridge, Massachusetts

Your Local Plumbing & Heating Team

Sturbridge keeps two centuries of housing inside one town line, and the difference shows the moment you open a cellar door. Some of these houses had their plumbing and heating fitted in long after they were built, by several different hands, none of whom left notes. Others were finished last decade and behave exactly as designed.

Working on both takes a company willing to slow down for the old ones. We do not treat an antique house like a problem to be modernized, and we do not condemn equipment just because it is old. We fix what is failing, leave alone what is working, and say plainly when something has genuinely reached the end.

Covering plumbing and heating together helps here more than most places, because in an old Sturbridge house the two systems are often tangled in the same cellar, sharing space and sometimes sharing problems. One company that understands both is a lot more useful than two that each see half the picture.

Sturbridge Plumbing & Heating FAQs

Do you serve Sturbridge?
Yes, all of it — the historic center, the neighborhoods off Route 20 and I-84, and the roads in between. We are family-owned, based in Spencer about twenty minutes north, with 22+ years in Worcester County. Call (833) 969-4330.
Are you comfortable working in antique homes?
Very. Old houses in this area are a regular part of our work, and they reward patience: tight cellars, odd routing, and several generations of material in one wall. We work around the house rather than making the house work around us.
Can the plumbing in an antique house be updated without tearing the place apart?
Usually a good deal more of it than owners fear. Existing chases, closets, and cellar runs often give us a route that never touches finished plaster. We plan the path before cutting anything, and where there genuinely is no way through except through, we say so before you find out the hard way.
How do you handle pricing on an unpredictable old house?
Carefully, and in writing. We look at the actual conditions before quoting, because guessing what is behind a two-hundred-year-old wall would not be a real price. Once you have approved the quote, it holds — a customer review says exactly that.
Our old cellar has no headroom for a standard water heater. What are the options?
Low-clearance cellars come up constantly around the common. Depending on the space and the venting you have, the answer might be a shorter wide tank, a different location entirely, or a tankless unit on the wall that hands the floor space back. Which of those is realistic depends on what your venting and fuel supply can support.
