Oxford, Massachusetts

Your Local Plumbing & Heating Team

Oxford is a town of two halves. Part of it is on town services, part of it is on private wells, and the houses range from tidy newer neighborhoods to places that have been added onto for a century. A contractor who only knows one of those halves will eventually give you the wrong answer.

We know both, and we cover both trades while we are at it. Plumbing and heating from the same family-owned company means the person diagnosing your cold radiator is the same outfit that will handle the water heater next year, and we already know what your house is made of.

The process is the part we will not bend on. Diagnose it properly, quote the whole job before starting, test it before leaving. Twenty-two years in Worcester County and a 4.9-star rating came from doing that consistently, not from being the cheapest name in a search result.

Hours: Mon–Fri 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM · Sat 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM · Sun 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM. We work to accommodate emergencies.

Oxford Plumbing & Heating FAQs

Who handles plumbing and heating in Oxford, MA?
Mike Lambert's Plumbing & Heating Inc — family-owned, based in Spencer, and serving Oxford and the rest of Worcester County for over 22 years. Both trades, one phone number: (833) 969-4330.
Do you take care of both town water and well homes?
Yes. Oxford has plenty of both, and the right first question is different for each. On town water we look at pipes and valves; on a well we start at the pressure tank and the switch. Knowing which question to ask first saves you money.
The pressure drops off whenever two taps run at once. What causes that on a well?
Most often a waterlogged pressure tank or a switch cycling too early, so the system cannot keep up with two draws at the same time. Both are fixable without anyone going anywhere near the well itself, which is usually a relief to hear.
We are down near the French River and the basement takes water. Will a sump pump solve it?
In the low-lying stretches along the river it usually does, as long as the pump is matched to how much water actually arrives and the discharge carries far enough that it is not circling straight back to the foundation. We would rather look at that basement in a wet week than guess about it in August.
The upstairs of our Oxford house never warms up like the downstairs. Is that the heating system?
It can be, though not always. Uneven heat comes from unbalanced zones, air trapped in the lines, a circulator not moving what it should, or equipment that was never sized for the additions the house picked up along the way. We work through those in order rather than opening with a quote for a new system.
