What We Handle

Installation is the work that either disappears quietly into the walls for fifty years or becomes somebody's expensive problem in five. There is no middle. A drain pitched a degree short still drains — until the day it does not, behind finished tile, and by then it is a demolition job rather than a plumbing one.

So we do it the slow way. We size the pipe to the fixtures you are actually installing rather than to whatever was there before, plan the route to keep supply lines out of the cold, pull the permit, and meet the inspector ourselves. That last part is not a formality. An inspected install is what protects you when the house sells.

Most of what we install falls into three buckets: repiping homes whose original supply lines have corroded past arguing with, plumbing kitchen and bathroom remodels from rough-in through finish, and adding fixtures — a half bath, a laundry, a utility sink — where the real question is what the existing drain and vent can carry.

How do I know whether to repair or repipe?
One failure is a repair. A pattern is a pipe problem. When you are fixing a different leak every few months, seeing rusty water after the house sits still, or losing pressure everywhere at once rather than at one fixture, the pipe itself is the thing that failed and you are already paying for a repipe in installments.
PEX or copper?
Both are good at different things. PEX handles freezing far better and pulls through finished spaces with a fraction of the demolition, which matters in Worcester County winters and in houses you would rather not gut. Copper is tougher where pipe runs exposed in a basement or garage. Most of our jobs end up a deliberate mix, and we will tell you which we are using where and why.
How much wall has to come out for a repipe?
Less than most people picture. We route through basements, attics, closets, and existing chases first, and open finished surfaces only where there is genuinely no path. Before any cutting we walk the house with you and mark exactly what we intend to open, so nothing is a surprise once the drywall dust starts.
Do you pull the permit?
Yes, on any new or relocated plumbing, and we meet the inspector ourselves. Some outfits leave it out to make a quote look smaller. We would rather explain why it is in ours — unpermitted plumbing has a way of surfacing at exactly the wrong moment, which is usually the day you go to sell.
Do you install garbage disposals?
Yes, and it is a smaller job than people expect. We mount the unit, connect the drain and the dishwasher line if there is one, and test it before we go. If you are replacing a dead disposal, we take the old one with us. If the sink has never had one, we will tell you up front whether the drain and the cabinet can take it.
Can you put in an outdoor faucet that will not freeze?
Yes — a frost-free spigot is the right answer for a Worcester County house, and installing or replacing one is routine work for us. The frost-free design keeps the shutoff point back inside the warm part of the wall, which is how you avoid the burst-pipe surprise come spring. We install new ones and swap out the old style that keeps freezing.
When should I call you about a remodel?
During layout, not after demolition. Where the fixtures go decides where drains and vents have to run, and some very reasonable-looking floor plans are expensive or impossible once you know where the stack is. A ten-minute conversation early has saved our customers a lot of money and several arguments with their contractor.
